Géraldine Bazile a plus de 10 ans d’expérience dans le domaine de la massothérapie. Elle a débuté sa carrière comme assistante physiothérapeute. Elle a acquis, grâce à cette expérience, une approche thérapeutique du massage. Elle croit fortement en la prise en charge de l’individu dans la gestion de la douleur chronique et la récupération après une blessure ou une chirurgie.

Elle a créé la Méthode Bazile, qui inclut étirement musculaire yin, auto-massage et respiration profonde.

Dr. Anthony Albers completed his medical studies and orthopaedic surgery residency at McGill University, followed by a fellowship in Adult Hip & Knee Reconstruction at the University of British Columbia. He currently works as an orthopaedic surgeon at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal and is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at McGill University.

With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montreal, Chanelle Cartier became an employee benefit consultant through the Autorité des marchés financiers in 2012. She has been working at Lafond Avantages sociaux et Actuariat for five years where she currently holds the position of Director, Benefits Department. Ms. Cartier is now working toward a certified employee benefit specialist designation at Dalhousie University. Dr. Éric Rich

Rheumatologist

Having earned his degree from the University de Montréal and after having started his post-residency career in rheumatology, Dr. Éric Rich completed a postdoctoral training in clinical investigation at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He is currently head of the rheumatology department of the CHUM (University of Montreal Health Centre) and is teaching undergraduate courses to externs and students completing a residency. Dr. Rich has published over twenty scientific papers on rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, and autoimmune myositis.

Dr. Michel Zummer

Rheumatologist

Dr. Zummer is Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal and served as Chief of Rheumatology at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital from 1997 to 2017. He is currently a board member of the Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC), and co-chairs the Models of Care Committee at the Arthritis Alliance of Canada (AAC).

In 2017, the Canadian Rheumatology Association honoured Dr. Zummer with the Distinguished Rheumatologist award for outstanding contribution to rheumatology in CanadaCurrently, Dr. Zummer’s focus is improving health care delivery for individuals with rheumatological problems.

Dr. Karl Weiss

Dr. Karl Weiss is the chief of the division of infectious diseases at the Jewish General and is also a professor of Medicine with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and at University of Montreal.

Anny Condé

Physiotherapist

Anny Condé is a physiotherapist who practises at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre, where she has been working in the pediatric rheumatology and oncology department for the past 17 years. She is certified in global postural re-education since 2014.

Ms. Condé taught the pediatric oncology and juvenile idiopathic arthritis component of the physiotherapy program at the Université de Montréal. She recently held a conference on juvenile idiopathic arthritis and physiotherapy at the convention of the OPPQ (Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec). Ms. Condé participated in the writing of an article on the same subject alongside the OPPQ in April of 2017.

Simone Cavanaugh

Diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis at the age of six, Simone Cavanaugh was a wheelchair user for seven years. She became the Arthritis Society’s Childhood Arthritis Spokesperson for over a decade and Quebec Division camp coordinator for two years.  Simone recently graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, is the recipient of many prestigious awards including this year Laurie Normand-Starr Humanitarian Award.

Simone Cavanaugh is the Co-Founder and Director of Pivot International, a non-profit organization for children with special needs in developing countries. She is also a member of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council and a motivational speaker who recently gave a talk at TEDxMontrealWomen on transforming life’s obstacles into opportunities.

Feeling like the pain she had because of fibromyalgia was misunderstood, but very determined to get better, Jessica Roy tested every possible treatment, approach and diet, without much success. This was before she started yoga in 2008. Over the year, yoga brought relief, self-confidence, strength and flexibility to Jessica. After completing many training courses with world-class teachers, she founded Yoga pour la fibromyalgie in 2016, a platform entirely dedicated to sharing the benefits of yoga with the French-speaking fibromyalgia community.

Michel Laroche has been a psychologist for 27 years. Since university, he has been interested in the psychological impact of chronic illness on people living with arthritis and those around them. He has been a partner in the development of the Aide entrAide program, which supports parents whose children live with arthritis as well as adults with the disease. Mr. Laroche is a speaker and clinical advisor for the Arthritis Society’s Quebec division. Laroche is also director of the mental health and addiction programs at CISSS Chaudière-Appalaches.

Ting Gong graduated from McGill University in 2013 and started her career in the rheumatology program of Constance-Lethbridge Rehabilitation Center. Throughout her career, she has attended multiple conferences given by different arthritis associations. Aside from conventional physiotherapy, Ms. Gong also specializes in vestibular rehabilitation to better serve clients who present with vertigo from either their autoimmune conditions or other causes such as post falls.

Wai Yiu Kwok graduated from McGill University in 2006 and has since been working in the rheumatology program of Constance-Lethbridge Rehabilitation Center. Previously,  she has participated in , as well as authored articles for different arthritis associations. Since 2010, she has worked as a rheumatology clinician. She has been a nutritionist for more than 20 years and she’s been particularly interested in studying the link between nutrition and inflammation since she was diagnosed with arthritis in 2011.

Sarah Campillo

Sarah Campillo has been a pediatric rheumatologist and assistant professor at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (McGill University Health Centre) since 2005. She also heads a pediatric rheumatology clinic at Montreal’s Shriners Hospital.

Dr. Campillo’s mission is to help children living with arthritis by raising awareness about the disease and working with the Arthritis Society to develop specialized programming. She is the co-founder of the Kids on the Move Camp for children living with rheumatic diseases and president of the advisory board for the Arthritis Society’s Quebec Division.

Dr. Michael Starr

Michael Starr

Dr. Michael Starr is a Member of the MUHC’s Rheumatology Division. Formerly head of training in rheumatology at McGill, he continues to teach in continuing education programs in Montreal and elsewhere in Canada. He has been involved in many therapeutic clinical trials regarding inflammatory arthritis, has published several articles and books, and co-authored a book for the general public on the role of nutrition in the treatment of arthritis. In addition, Dr. Starr is the Rheumatology Editor for the Canadian Journal of Diagnosis and Regional Director of the Patient-Partner in Arthritis program in Montreal.

Dr Michel Camiré

Orthopedic surgeon

Dr. Michel Camiré has been an orthopaedic surgeon for 17 years and is head of orthopedics at Sainte-Croix de Drummondville Hospital. He completed his PhD at the faculty of medicine of Laval University in 1995, and received his specialization degree in orthopaedic surgery in September of 2000. The following year, he completed a subspecialty program in hip replacement at à Lariboisière Hospital, in Paris. Dr. Camiré has taken part in nine editions of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie. One thing he really likes to remind his osteoarthritis patients, even the ones who are more severely affected, is to: “Never stop moving!”

Mark Hazeltine

Dr. Hazeltine holds degrees in internal medicine and rheumatology. Over the years he has held the titles of assistant clinical professor; head of rheumatology and specialized medicine departments; and advisor to the Association des médecins rhumatologues du Québec. He is currently the director of Laval’s rheumatology centre and a clinical lecturer at the University of Montreal’s department of family medicine. Dr. Hazeltine is also the author of a practical guide to rheumatology and founder of the PARLER program for quick access to rheumatology care for Laval residents.

Réjean Lemay

Pharmacist

Réjean Lemay completed his pharmacy studies at Laval University in 1985 and did his residency as a hospital pharmacist at Hôtel-Dieu in Quebec City. Lemay, who got his M.B.A. at HEC Montréal in 1992, was chief of the pharmacy departments of the Montreal Chest Institute (1985–1989), the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the Shriners Hospital (1995–1998). After having worked for the pharmaceutical industry for some time, while never giving up his community pharmacist practice, he decided to return as a full-time pharmacist in 2009 and is now the owner of a pharmacy in Brownsburg-Chatham. Lemay is a lecturer, tutor and associate clinician at the University of Montreal’s faculty of pharmacy.

Kim Arrey

Registered Dietician/Nutritionist

Kim Arrey has a thriving nutrition consultation practice based in Montreal, where over the last 30 years she has helped thousands of clients with chronic health problems such as arthritis. Co-author with Dr. Michael Starr of the book The Complete Arthritis Health, Diet Guide and Cookbook, Kim Arrey gives presentations on healthy eating choices to help reduce inflammation and pain. Her blog focuses on using food as a tool to manage arthritis. Kim Arrey is a graduate from McGill University, and completed her integrated internship at several major Montreal hospitals. She is a member of the Ordre professionnel des diététistes du Québec, Dietitians of Canada, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also works in a volunteer capacity with the Arthritis Society, serving on Quebec’s Divisional Advisory Board.
